Bonte v Race 1-1, Brauhaus just manage to beat BV

Published by BVFC at 11:25 am under General

In a much anticipated showdown, Bonte and Race came to battle at Palumbo.  Bonte is playing against 8 players from its 2008 championship team.  The first goal came from none other than Glenn Wilken, with a pass from Bula that he then deftly used to split the Race defence and score with his left.  In the second half, Race st were awarded a penalty after Chris Bull seemed to be pushed during an opportunity to head the ball.  This drew much criticism of diving…   Mr. Bull, who ironically scored the 2008 championship goal, may  have earned his Oscar for this performance by convincing Englishman James who pointed to the spot.  Armenian international Vache scored the penalty with a pin point shot in the top right.  The score was 1-1.

Italo is out for the season with a torn ACL, and Puma aka JP had a scare when Nachmy’s shot smashed his eye.  Puma is now recovering.

Brauhaus and Bella Vista played a match of equals.  Brauhaus, despite having 2 penalties saved, managed to win 3-2 with goals from Loren Stata, ….  BV scorers were…  What is mind boggling is BV’s decision not to put more strikers in the last minutes despite being a goal down.  BV had a ample opportunities to draw the game, but lacked the finishing.  Still, BV had a solid performance in an entertaining encounter, and Brauhaus now share the top spot in the league with 7 points.

“Chris Bull seemed to be pushed during an opportunity to head the ball. This drew much criticism of diving… ”

Hardly a dive and a good call from Mr. Holt in my completely biased opinion. One thing that was clear, Vache’s PK was lovely!

RE: my Injury. Accidents happen, although I never thought the Nachman had such a power shot. In any case, I was lucky and may consider adopting Ben Graff eye ware :P

Brauhaus won 2-1, not 3-2. And by the way, how does Alex Kranjec end up scoring the winning goal on a HEADER ?!

As far as the penalties go, I will try and have a word with Brian tomorrow (Tuesday) about the dimensions of both penalty areas. The only option as far as refereeing is concerned is to go with the lines that are on the field. Even is one penalty area is enormous and practically touching the center circle.

I also wanted to explain my decision for the second penalty. The defender did get the ball, however he came through the back of the player to do so. Even if you make clean contact FIRST on the ball but in your follow through foul him, it is a foul. Getting to the ball first is not a free pass.

I am not suggesting that anybody complained or bitched at my call, and I am not obliged to justify my decisions, however I just wanted to explain the laws of the game in case any folk were confused.

Well-fought game for both teams. The Chris Bull penalty was fair. Just because he likes Arsenal doesn’t mean he dives like Eduardo. Looking forward to the rematch!

Oh yeah,…..at the post game report, Chris “little english” Bull stated that there were very little contact. He said “my fall was largely due to the fact that I was out partying all night and didn’t get any sleep”. He continued saying, on record, that a fellow englishman will always be there for him.

The referee, “big english”,when confronted about the call said “It is my opinion that really counts regardless if it was a foul or not”.

Ok so to the PK now, did anyone notice the hug that Vacthe put on the ball after the call was made? Well taken PK though.

    Stay tuned……….

why do the reggiani brothers not play this year, and jt. Is it because they are tiring of putting together such sucky teams?
