Sunday Oct 28: No Games due waterlogged Pitch
The call from Palumbo came in this morning. They would like us to postpone our games due to the soggy conditions of the Palumbo field.
I know this is shocking. What the hell are we supposed to do with our weekend now? I guess you should all drink a lot of beer and watch TV. Go see a movie. Spend some time with the family.

Conrad, Juan, Members of the Board,
Why was the game on Thursday (Race vs Via) cancelled only two hours before the match?? I have heard that it was due to bad weather conditions…but that does not seem reasonable to me; it was not even raining!!!
If it is not for last minute decisions due to bad weather, I would suggest cancelling game at least one day before the match…and not just a couple of hours!!
I had to make a lot of arrangements to be able to assist to that game, that was cancelled without a legit. reason.
I do not want to think that the game was cancelled because one of the teams could not get enough players!! That would be very unfair for other teams, such as Fuego (who played almost every game with less than 10 players), Vesuvio (both times they played Via, they were down a man), and Patriots ( they had to played with 9 players a couple of times).
Just my 2 cents.
Have a great (boring) weekend…
What about having a mud fest at Starr/Garden tomorrow?
Say 1PM
Diego — Sometimes the games have to be cancelled not because it is raining at game time, but because it has been raining for a few days before and the pitch is waterlogged. At Sacks, they did not even unlock the gate on Thursday, while the folks at Palumbo called me on Saturday morning and asked us not to play on Sunday.
Remember, while we may not mind playing in the rain and the mud, if we mess up the fields even worse than they are, we may not be able to get the permits in the future. That’s why we have to go along with the requests from the Rec Department folks (Wes and Bill), even if we don’t necessarily agree with them.
