Many thanks to Fergies for opting to play a game despite our super illegal guest players. It was a good game with a few spectacular goals (mostly by Fergies).

    That wasn’t Bertrand and Jon??

  3. Alexon 25 Oct 2007 at 12:20 pm

“Bertrand” was in reality 2 Peruvians, one sitting on the others’ shoulders. The one on top was wearing an extra long shirt.

we are not opposed to fielding a two headed monster, a purple-people-eater, or the guy that eats at el fuego who looks like newman from seinfeld. the Peruvians were only the beginning! viva la revolution!

I have removed the Collaborater’s treasonous comment.

Well I tell you years from now, man will say of this game, did it happen? Well I tell you in the listening audience today, it is happening. We’re all witness’s to an occasion long to be remembered, not as propaganda as some would say, but as a magnificent sporting spectacle

Nah, just a few friends riffing on the Citizen Kane of Nazi forced labor camp soccer movies.

If you want to borrow it, I actually have “Victory” (or, as the Brits know it, “Escape to Victory”) on DVD. I may pick Michael Caine #1 in next year’s draft.

And, as an aside, Pele plays a guy from Trinidad in the movie.

You can forget it if you think you are going to break my arm so Sylvester Stallone can play in goal.

The worst part is they break his arm and he does not even get to escape. I would be pissed if I was that guy.
