12PM Game: Close match but Fuego took the game with a 2nd half point from Irving. Another controversial call kept the Artful Dogders off the scoreboard and handed us our 4th straight loss

Nothing controversial about the call - the person who committed the foul later admitted that they had done it (the foul that is).

Please do not try and hide behind that one incident or decision as the reason for losing that game.

    Controversial because we lost ;)
I really just wanted to stir things up and get at least a response. Mission accomplished! :)
Seriously, the Ref and linesmen did a top notch job.

Did I leave a man unmarked at a corner ? Did I give the ball away ? Did I commit fouls ? Did I miss-kick the ball ? Did I squander goal-scoring opportunities ? Did I make defensive errors ? Did I hold on to the ball too long ? Did I pass the ball to the opposition instead of a team-mate ? Did I mark someone on the wrong side of the goal ? Did I commit foul-throws ?

The answer to all (and more) of the above is no.

Did your team ? The answer to all (and more) of the above is yes.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but before posting comments that place the blame for losing a game on my shoulders take a look in the mirror and try and have the good grace to accept defeat.

    Thanks !

Really, I think the ref did an outstanding job. The call was correct (we like to gripe about it after a loss, becasue that’s futbol) and besides, that was the call and it stands.

It seems I have created controversy about the “controversy” and that was my intention (get some people finally commenting on this blog). No insult was intended, and I greatly appreciate your service (I owe u a pint).

Don’t forget I was MVP of stirring shit on the blogs last season! I may have entered the race late as I’m only reffing this time around, but just you wait……..

whoooaaa. we have a shit-stirring MVP here. What about game 2? It seems like Vesuvio just can’t win games against undermanned teams.

If you are going to play the Calamari’s, keep some of your players at home and you will probably end up with a draw.

I only saw the first half of game 2, but so far statistics hold up your theory. Still, you know what they say; “there’s lies, damn lies, and The BVFC Blog” or something like that.
